Living life one day at a time

I have been inspired to set up a blog by the very creative people that hang out at Crafts Beautiful forum - I've spent so much time reading their blogs that this has taken forever - procrastination could be my middle name!
Earlier this week I attended the funeral of a friend who was taken by cancer after a long painful illness. She was 41 and lived life to the full. It gave me a good nudge - and reminded me that life is short and I have a habit of putting things off - and then they never get done. So now I am working on a list of all the things I am, not I want but I am, going to do.
“Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, drink in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming “WOO HOO what a ride!”

One of them is stopping to smell the roses more - while I work hard 9-5 I tend to drift when I get home so I am making more time to spend with my children, more time to spend doing the things I want to do and more time to spend with friends.
One of the items on my 'list' is to spend time doing things I enjoy such as crafting - inspired again by the gals at CB forum - and this is a card I made earlier today. The picture is a birthday gift for my (ex)MIL - whose birthday is today and I am a bit late sending it as she is in Liverpool and I am in New Zealand. Can I blame the postman?

Welcome to blogland hun :-)

I enjoyed your first posting, but was saddened to read of your friends passing.

Your cards are lovely, I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Sorry to hear about your friend Cindy ... and like you I intend to make time to actually do all the things I think about doing but never quite achieve.

I love your card and even though it will be late I'm sure your X M~I~L will love and appreciate your work. I think it's wonderful that you both still have a good relationship.
